An island tour brought host and owner, Uschi Wetzels, a German travel writer, to the village of Bathsheba. Immediately, Uschi fell in love with the hilly area and its lush vegetation. And now Uschi has built this private hide-away beach vacation hotel for everyone to discover and enjoy all of the lush magnificence of Barbados east coast; paying special attention to privacy, Bajan hospitality and Barbados Surfing.

Bathsheba is a community of a few thousand souls. There are Chattel Houses, small wooden homes, spread out over palm tree decorated slopes; not a single three-story-building in the area. Sea-U's beach vacation hotel is located on the southern end of Bathsheba, in Tent Bay, with colorful fishing boats rocking in the azure blue ocean. Only our tropical garden separates you from the unspoiled Atlantic waterfront.

Visitors can cool down in one of the natural dipping pools at Bathsheba Beach or watch Barbados' best surfing. Surfers can catch the waves at the world famous Soup Bowl just a brief walk away from us; each year in November, Soup Bowl hosts International surfing championships. And you can tour the Andromeda Botanical Gardens with their large collection of tropical plants from the Caribbean and every continent of the world just a few hundred meters away from Sea-U Guest House.

Public transportation is very efficient in Barbados. Busses stop close to Sea-U. The ride from Bathsheba to Bridgetown (14 km / 8.8 miles) takes 30-45 minutes; the trip along the East coast to the West coast takes 40-45 minutes, with stops at Fairy Hill National Park and Barbados Wildlife Reserve. Explore the many treasures of the island, several more beautiful and secluded beaches, to dine out on the other side of the island, you may want to book a rental car already prior to your arrival. We can arrange your car rental as well as airport pick-up by taxi.
